International Tourism Forum “Sughd – Crossroads of the Great Silk Road”
On April 18, 2025, the second International Tourism Forum “Sughd – Crossroads of the Great Silk Road” was held in the city of Khujand. Representatives of the tourism industry from 10 countries — Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Greece — took part in the forum.
The Head of the Administration of the Sughd Free Economic Zone, Muhammadzoda Muhammad Sultan, after participating in the forum, introduced the participants of the second International Tourism Forum “Sughd – Crossroads of the Great Silk Road” to the historical and cultural complex “Khujand Fortress”.
During the visit, guests became acquainted with the national art of Tajik architecture, such as wood carving, painting, ornamentation, plasterwork, artistic processing of wood and stone, ceramic tile work, engraving, and more — all of which were prominently featured in five exhibition halls. The guests gave high praise to the exceptional craftsmanship of the artisans and skilled masters of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It is worth noting that within the historical and cultural complex “Khujand Fortress,” an exhibition of goods and products from enterprises of the Sughd region was organized for the guests.
