On October 1, 2026, a new resident, Peshsafi Sughd LLC, was registered with the Administration of the Sughd Free Economic Zone. In a ceremony held at the Administration, Head of the Administration of the Sughd Free Economic Zone Muhammadзода Muhammad Sulton presented the Certificate of a Sughd FEZ resident to the head of the enterprise, Usmonov Nozimjon Qosimovich.

The enterprise is being established by domestic investor Urunov Shavkatboy Sharifovich. Its main areas of activity include the production of paper and cardboard packaging, non-alcoholic beverages, mineral water, and other bottled water products.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Head of the Administration of the Sughd Free Economic Zone Muhammadзода Muhammad Sulton wished the head of the enterprise success and prosperity and gave relevant instructions to accelerate construction works, taking into account the available opportunities.

 

 

 

On September 28–29 of this year, the Second Fergana Peace Forum under the theme “Fergana Valley: A Space of Peace, Trust and Prosperity” was held in the city of Guliston, Sughd Region.

The Forum was dedicated to the anniversary of the adoption of the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship and was organized with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Executive Body of State Power of Sughd Region.

The Forum was attended by Chairman of Sughd Region Rajab Ahmadzoda, Hokim of Fergana Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khayrullo Bozorov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Batken Region Mamyrjon Rahimov, representatives of government authorities, international and regional organizations, diplomatic missions, analytical and research centers, the academic community, civil society, mass media, youth and women’s organizations, as well as representatives of local communities from the three countries of the Fergana Valley — Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to the historical significance of the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship, signed on March 31, 2025, by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, His Excellency Sadyr Japarov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The main objective of the Forum was to discuss the role of international and regional organizations in supporting peacebuilding initiatives, promoting dialogue among communities, strengthening mutual trust, and creating favorable conditions for the sustainable development of the region.

On the second day of the Forum, a number of events were held aimed at further developing public and humanitarian cooperation, strengthening good-neighborly relations, and promoting initiatives that contribute to peace, mutual trust and sustainable development in the region.

 

 

 

 

On September 28, 2026, a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the People’s Republic of China visited the Sughd Free Economic Zone (FEZ). As part of the visit, the guests familiarized themselves with the activities of the Administration of Sughd FEZ, its investment opportunities, as well as the production and export potential of the zone.

During the visit, the delegation toured several active enterprises operating within Sughd FEZ, including AsiaPoliteks LLC and Sayr Sughd LLC, where they learned about the companies’ operations, production processes, manufactured products, and opportunities for their further development.

The guests also visited the Agricultural Products Distribution Center (agrologistics center), where particular attention was paid to the development of trade and investment cooperation, expansion of economic ties, attraction of foreign investment, and implementation of joint projects.

The visit of the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the People’s Republic of China to Sughd FEZ provides favorable conditions for presenting the zone’s investment opportunities and further strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the parties.

 

 

 

On September 24, 2026, a one-day training session was held at the State Institution “Administration of the Free Economic Zone ‘Sughd’” for entities of FEZ “Sughd”, entrepreneurs and customs brokers operating within FEZ “Sughd”.

The training was conducted within the framework of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project “Promoting Effective Border Management through the Introduction of the Human Security Concept in Border Communities along the Tajikistan–Afghanistan Border” and was aimed at raising participants’ awareness and understanding of the regulatory and practical aspects of conducting business activities in the free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The main objective of the training was to enhance the knowledge and skills of FEZ “Sughd” entities, entrepreneurs and customs brokers in the areas of customs clearance, the tax system, regulatory requirements, customer service, and effective ways of cooperation with customs authorities.

The seminar was opened with introductory remarks by representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of the United Nations Development Programme, and trainers from SMART Agency.

During the training, key issues related to the activities of free economic zone entities were discussed through five thematic training sessions:

Session 1 — “Legislation Regulating the Activities of Free Economic Zones of the Republic of Tajikistan.”

Session 2 — “Customs and the FEZ Tax System: Practical Aspects and Cooperation with Customs Authorities.”

Session 3 — “Interaction with Customs Authorities: How to Establish Effective Dialogue.”

Session 4 — “Customer Service Charter.”

Session 5 — “Branding, Marketing and E-Commerce for FEZ Entities.”

As part of the sessions, participants became familiar with the practical aspects of customs and tax procedures, legislative requirements, effective methods of communication and cooperation with customs authorities, as well as opportunities for developing customer service, branding, marketing and e-commerce.

The organization of such training programmes is important for enhancing the legal awareness and professional capacity of free economic zone entities, improving their cooperation with government authorities, and creating favourable conditions for the development of entrepreneurial and investment activities.

 

 

 

 

 

On September 21, 2026, a group of entrepreneurs from the People’s Republic of China, headed by Deputy Chairman of Sughd Region Anvar Yaqubi, visited the Free Economic Zone “Sughd”.

The guests were welcomed by the management of the Administration of FEZ “Sughd” at the entrance to the zone. They were provided with information about the activities of FEZ “Sughd”, as well as its benefits and investment opportunities.

The guests then visited the FEZ “Sughd” entities — AsiaPoliteks LLC and Sayr Sughd LLC. During the visit, the guests highly appreciated the quality of the products manufactured by the enterprises.

It was emphasized that the Administration of FEZ “Sughd” provides all necessary conditions for foreign investors and is ready to provide comprehensive cooperation and support in the implementation of new production projects

 

 

 

On September 17, 2026, representatives of the Regional Office of the Border Management Programme in Central Asia, led by Mr. Georgiy Khishtovani, Private Sector Development Adviser , visited the Free Economic Zone “Sughd”.

The guests were received by the Deputy Heads of the Administration of the FEZ “Sughd” in the conference hall of the Administration. During the meeting, a presentation was delivered to the delegation providing information on the activities of the FEZ “Sughd”, as well as its incentives and opportunities.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the FEZ “Sughd” resident entities: AsiaPolitex LLC, Fortuna-Co JV LLC, Real LLC, and Sayr Sughd LLC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On September 16, 2026, a delegation of representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation visited the Free Economic Zone “Sughd”.

The delegation was warmly received by the Head of the Administration of the FEZ “Sughd”, who provided information on the activities, incentives and opportunities of the FEZ “Sughd”.

The delegation then visited several resident entities of the FEZ “Sughd” and familiarized themselves with their operations, including AsiaPolitex LLC, Fortuna-Co JV LLC, Silcoat Boya JV LLC, Sayr Sughd LLC, as well as the Agro-Logistics Center

 

On August 28, 2026, as part of the Forum’s programme, the guests paid a visit to the Sughd Free Economic Zone.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Muhammad Sulton Muhammadov, Head of the Administration of the Sughd Free Economic Zone. During the visit, the participants also familiarized themselves with the activities of several FEZ enterprises, including the Afghanrang Plastic LLC Joint Venture, the construction progress of the Agro-Logistics Center, Sayri Sughd LLC, Fortuna Co LLC Joint Venture, and Aziapolitex LLC.

The visit of the Forum participants to the Sughd Free Economic Zone is of great importance for strengthening international cooperation, exchanging experience in the field of digitalization, attracting investment, and creating new opportunities for cooperation among free economic zones in the Eurasian countries.
