On June 19, 2026, within the framework of the official program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), a consultative information session was held at the Administration of the Free Economic Zone “Sughd” with the participation of EBRD representatives, the management, and resident companies of FEZ “Sughd”.
The event was opened by Zafarjon Nurullozoda, Deputy Head of the FEZ “Sughd” Administration, who welcomed all participants and expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the EBRD, particularly to Mr. Holger Wiefel. Mr. Nurullozoda emphasized that the EBRD has been providing practical assistance to the FEZ “Sughd” Administration since the early days of its operation and has played a significant role in the development of the zone. He also noted that the Bank has consistently supported the initiatives of the FEZ and described the current meeting as further evidence of this cooperation, before giving the floor to Mr. Holger Wiefel.
In his remarks, Mr. Holger Wiefel, EBRD Head in Tajikistan, thanked all participants for attending and highlighted the importance of the event in promoting entrepreneurship and business development in general.
During the session, EBRD representatives Mustafa Jonmamadov, Muhammad Dodaboev, Gavkharkhon Mamadjonova, Nazarbegim Gulmamadova, and Rafiqjon Akilov delivered detailed presentations on the Bank’s services and opportunities, as well as its ongoing projects and future plans in Tajikistan. These presentations provided participants with comprehensive information about the EBRD’s activities and support mechanisms.
In addition, Mr. M. Umarov, representing Fortuna Co LLC, shared his experience of cooperation with the EBRD. His presentation attracted considerable interest among the participants and clearly demonstrated that the EBRD is not only a financial partner but also a reliable strategic partner in the sustainable development of business and trade.
The information session was held in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue, cooperation, and exchange of ideas.
