PARTICIPATION OF MUHAMMAD SULTON MUHAMMADZODA, HEAD OF THE STATE INSTITUTION “ADMINISTRATION OF THE SUGHD FREE ECONOMIC ZONE”, IN THE SECOND FERGANA PEACE FORUM UNDER THE THEME “FERGANA VALLEY: A SPACE OF PEACE, TRUST AND PROSPERITY”

 
On September 28–29 of this year, the Second Fergana Peace Forum under the theme “Fergana Valley: A Space of Peace, Trust and Prosperity” was held in the city of Guliston, Sughd Region.
The Forum was dedicated to the anniversary of the adoption of the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship and was organized with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Executive Body of State Power of Sughd Region.
The Forum was attended by Chairman of Sughd Region Rajab Ahmadzoda, Hokim of Fergana Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khayrullo Bozorov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Batken Region Mamyrjon Rahimov, representatives of government authorities, international and regional organizations, diplomatic missions, analytical and research centers, the academic community, civil society, mass media, youth and women’s organizations, as well as representatives of local communities from the three countries of the Fergana Valley — Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was paid to the historical significance of the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship, signed on March 31, 2025, by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, His Excellency Sadyr Japarov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The main objective of the Forum was to discuss the role of international and regional organizations in supporting peacebuilding initiatives, promoting dialogue among communities, strengthening mutual trust, and creating favorable conditions for the sustainable development of the region.
On the second day of the Forum, a number of events were held aimed at further developing public and humanitarian cooperation, strengthening good-neighborly relations, and promoting initiatives that contribute to peace, mutual trust and sustainable development in the region.
