On July 8, 2025, within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan, the Economic and Investment Forum of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan was held.
The Presidents of both countries, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and His Excellency Sadyr Japarov, participated in the forum and delivered speeches in the presence of entrepreneurs and investors from both sides.
President Emomali Rahmon emphasized that in recent times there has been a growing trend in trade turnover between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, along with the development of other areas of economic cooperation, including cultural and humanitarian ties.
It was stated that the outcomes of today’s forum would also contribute to enriching bilateral relations with new practical content.
During the presentation of broad investment and trade opportunities, Tajikistan expressed its interest in expanding cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, and investment, as well as in strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries.
The importance of enhancing interregional trade and economic relations between the two nations was particularly highlighted.
President Emomali Rahmon noted Tajikistan’s rich natural resources and favorable investment climate, stating that the country’s legislation provides incentives and legal guarantees for the protection of business and investment.
It was also mentioned that one of the key areas of cooperation in investment is the development of trade aligned with global trends in the green economy.
It was further reported that the Head of the Administration of the “Sughd” Free Economic Zone, Muhammadzoda Muhammad Sultan, participated in this high-level forum and held productive meetings with representatives of the business community of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the bilateral talks, the parties discussed key issues of trade cooperation and expansion of economic ties with the Sughd FEZ.
At the conclusion of the meetings, the Head of the Sughd FEZ Administration expressed readiness for economic cooperation with representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic.
