SUGHD FEZ REPORTED ON THE RESULT OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2021 IN THE PRESS CONFERENCE

On July 21, 2021, a press conference held in the Administration of Sughd Free Economic Zone with the participation of representatives of local media.

 

The head of Administration – Kamoliddinzoda I. briefly reported the results of activity and development of FEZ for the first half of 2021.

 

It was mentioned that nowadays there 30 business entities are registered in the Sughd FEZ, fifteen of which began their production activities and services.

 

  1. Kamoliddinzoda, the head of the Administration, noted that despite the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the main production indicators maintained an upward trend. For example, the volume of production in the first half of 2021 amounted to 118.2 million TJS, which compared to the same period in 2020 increased by 180.4% or 52.7 million TJS.

He also noted that during this period the volume of construction work in the Sughd FEZ reached 664.8 thousand TJS, which is 2.6 times more than in the same period of 2020. In January-June 2021, the volume of services in the Sughd FEZ reached 1,600.8 thousand TJS, compared to the same period in 2020 it amounted to 102.8%. The volume of direct investments in the first six months of 2021 amounted to 10.8 million TJS, compared to the same period last year, increased by 122.7 percent (8.8 million TJS).

 

It was also noted that the total number of jobs in Sughd FEZ  since the beginning of its operation has reached 716 people, which is more than 110 new jobs compared to the last year.

 

Also Kamoliddinzoda I. added that at the end of June of this year, the Administration of Sughd FEZ held a ceremony of awarding a certificate to a new entity and noted that today the relevant documents of another entity have been transferred to the Commission for consideration of business plans and investment projects of applicants for obtaining the status of a FEZ subject under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.

                                        

During the press conference, the Head of the FEZ Administration answered all the questions that were asked by the media representatives.

Journalists were interested in the subjects of the free economic zone, their products, their competitiveness and export abroad, the impact of the Covid-19 Coronovirus on the activities of the enterprises of the Sughd FEZ and future plans.

Answering all the questions, Kamoliddinzoda I. noted that the Administration of Sughd FEZ will take measures to realize the goals set before Sughd FEZ.
